Ms. Ridge is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience in providing community-based counseling and assessment for the adult and aging population. Lauren has worked in a variety of settings including a group home for adults with mental illness, social services providing support to the older adult population, skilled home health care, and hospice care. She has primarily worked with older adults and adults with co-occurring physical and mental disabilities but also has some experience with children and families. Last 3 years she practiced as a medical social worker providing supportive, client-centered counseling to older adults and their families throughout Northern Virginia. She has extensive knowledge about the resources and community supports throughout the region. She has a wealth of experience in helping people cope with life transitions. Lauren has provided grief counseling to hospice clients and their families and has experience providing support around end-of-life needs. She believes in the client-centered and holistic approach to care that focuses on the client’s strengths and resilience. As a case manager and counselor, Lauren has used several practice models including problem-solving model, solution-based therapy, task-centered practice, cognitive behavioral therapy, and crisis intervention model.
